Collection: Sake
Sake is Japanese rice wine – more precisely: a brewed beverage made from rice, koji, and water, positioned between wine and spirits. Our assortment comes from Kizakura, a brewery from Kyoto's Fushimi district, which has been working with the soft spring water Fushimizu since 1925. More from the same origin can be found under Japanese beverages.
The most important distinction for beginners is the style. Junmai contains no added brewing alcohol, making it fuller and more umami-rich – best served chilled at 5 to 10 °C. Honjozo gets a small amount of brewing alcohol, making it leaner and drier; it unfolds best when slightly warmed to around 45 °C.
The 180ml bottle corresponds to the Japanese Go, the classic single serving. For restaurants, this is the most practical unit because each bottle is freshly opened. Those looking for something milder will find Korean alternatives in our Soju range.
Alcoholic beverages are only delivered to persons aged 18 and over. Shipping from Swiss warehouse, delivery in 1 to 3 working days.
